Group Visits

We welcome adult & youth group visits from schools, businesses, houses of worship, clubs and other organizations!

  • Group visits MUST BE PRE-REGISTERED by emailing our Visitor Services Coordinator in advance at info@gibbsgardens.com. The coordinator will provide you with a registration form and any applicable group discount pricing.
  • There are no limitations on the number of participants in a group.
  • The Arbor Café, located in the Valley Gardens, is a walk-up café with al fresco dining. Groups of 15 or more who plan to dine at the café are required to pre-order and pre-purchase meals in advance. See menu under Plan Visits.
  • Due to high traffic volume on weekends and during peak season, it will be to your group’s advantage to schedule your visit on a weekday.
  • Free parking is available for motor coaches, buses, shuttles, vans or groups arriving by carpool.
  • Expedited check-in and group discounts are only available for groups who have pre-registered with Visitor Services.

Tours

All tours are self-guided and at your own pace. Visitors typically spend 2-4 hours in the Gardens with a break for lunch. If your visit is school or club related, this enables you to tailor your tour based on your current curriculum.

Attire

We recommend guests dress comfortably and appropriately for the weather. Guests may traverse varied terrain along pulverized granite pathways with some elevation changes. Close-toed shoes or sneakers are strongly recommended.

Accessibility

The Valley Gardens (100 Acres) which encompass the Waterlily Gardens, Grandchildren’s Sculpture Garden, Japanese Garden and “Le Jardin” Color

Garden on the lower level ARE wheelchair, walker and electric scooter accessible.

  • There are 126 benches in the Valley Gardens providing places to rest and enjoy the breathtaking views.
  • Anyone unable to tour the upper-level gardens can relax at the tables and chairs provided in the shade of the Arbor Grove while enjoying refreshments from the Arbor Café.
  • The Arbor Café, the Welcome Center, the Seasons Gift Store and Welcome Center restrooms ARE accessible.
  • Due to the steps and steep terrain, wheelchairs, walkers and electric scooters are not permitted in the upper-level Manor House Gardens.
  • The Manor House is a private residence; therefore, it is not open for tours.
  • We do not offer trams, shuttle services or wheelchair rental.

“Leave Nature As You Found It”

To preserve the beauty of the Gardens and for the safety of all guests, picking flowers, collecting rocks, sticks or leaves is strictly prohibited as is climbing on statues, rocks, trees, bridge railings, gazebos or entering fountains, creeks, waterfalls and ponds.

If your group is comprised of students, teachers & chaperones must ensure that this policy is strictly adhered to.

Touring the Gardens is a perfect opportunity for students to hone their observational skills!

  • We welcome the use of smartphones and cameras to capture memories in the Gardens as well as photos of native flora and fauna for future classroom discussions, projects and artwork.
  • Notebooks to record information or a pre-printed scavenger hunt are also acceptable ways of documenting observations.
